Fail Quickly
The best entrepreneurs and thinkers fail fast. They learn and adapt, never making the same mistake twice. Failing is actually a strange form of succeeding. Failing is successfully learning that something doesn’t work.
Any great product, business, or idea likely went through hundreds of iterations before success was achieved.
Failing fast is one of the greatest skills you can master. It’s recognition of something that doesn’t work and never repeating that same mistake. In doing this, you will easily isolate things that do and don’t work.
The closer you get to the things that do work, the more likely you will find money.
Fail fast.
A Fearless Mindset
The primary reason most people don’t take that “next step”, particularly in their professional lives, is because they are fearful of negative or adverse outcomes.
Fear will forever hold you back. Fear kills opportunity before it has a chance to prove its worth.
Be fearless. Be brave. Be bold. Money doesn’t come to those who sit and wait around. Money doesn’t come to those who are scared of negative outcomes. The only thing to fear is fear itself.
Sell Sell Sell
There’s no doubt that the ability to sell is arguably one of, if not the most important skill when it comes to making money.
No matter what you do in life, you will at some point have to sell. Whether that’s a product or yourself.
You might have the greatest product in the world. If you can’t paint a story around the product and demonstrate to others that it solves a problem, your product won’t take flight.
And being skilled at selling doesn’t mean you need to be the next Wolf of Wall Street. Far from it in fact. Skillful selling is your ability to persuade and compel. You don’t need to be extroverted. You don’t need to be suave.
Calculated. Calm. Convincing.
Learn to sell and a world of opportunity will open up for yourself.
Determination
I know. Boring buzzword. I really tried to find a different way of saying this.
Be determined. Be unrelenting.
Success and therefore money don’t come to those who aren’t willing to put in the hours. The 10,000 hour rule is my favorite example of this. In order to truly master something, you need at least 10,000 hours of practice.

Be determined to work harder than anyone else. Failure should be your greatest motivator. Never give in or give up. Rome wasn’t built in a day.
Even the wealthiest individuals still maintain the most determined work ethics. It’s why making money is a game to the 1%. Put the most hours into that game and you will do well for yourself.
Be Opportunistic
Opportunity doesn’t come to those who wait. Opportunity is created by those who seek it.
Be opportunistic and find new doors to open. Try new things. Learn new skills. You never know where your next opportunity might be or what it might look like.
There are millions of opportunities disguised all around us, hidden by our own apprehension and dislike of ambiguity.
Seek out opportunity.
Surround Yourself With Likeminded Individuals
One of the biggest mistakes people make is surrounding themselves with the wrong people. It’s no secret why successful people surround themselves with other successful people.
Surround yourself with people who support your mission and mindset. Get rid of those who doubt you or who don’t want your success.
People are our greatest resource. Develop your inner circle to be full of individuals who think and act like you. Look to be a resource for others on the same mission.
Treat Time as Your Greatest Resource
Time is your greatest resource. What we do with our time will determine our future. Especially when it comes to making money. Sounds simplistic, but it’s so unbelievably important.
You only have 24 hours a day, most of which is consumed doing things that won’t make you money.
How you use your available time will directly correlate with your ability to make money. So treat time like your greatest money maker. Because it is.
Time will make you a lot more money than money will buy you time.
Invest In Yourself
Another buzzword piece of advice. And for good reason. If you believe yourself destined for greatness, than invest in yourself to help accelerate the process.
And no, I’m not talking about the stock market. Although you should be doing that too.
Use your money wisely, but don’t be afraid to monetize your passions or pay money to improve your skills.
Success is a long-run game. Invest in yourself appropriately and success will become much more achievable.
Learn Aggressively
You can learn anything. You really can.
You won’t get far in life if you don’t learn. Many of the above skills can be learned. Fail fast and learn ever faster.
The most successful individuals are those who are able to learn the quickest. Many people are simply too lazy to learn new skills or are afraid of learning things that don’t come naturally to them.
Learn like crazy. Learning is the most productive use of your time. At the very least, you know something new or have improved a skill.
Never stop learning.
Patience
Fail fast. Learn quick. But be patient.
Success is and forever will be exponential. Overnight success stories are rare. Social media makes fantasy seem more like reality.

Success is difficult to attain. And intentionally so.
Even the most accomplished business owners and executives likely dedicated an exorbitant amount of time to mastering their craft. Making money is no different.
Money comes exponentially. Be patient if and when you don’t see initial results in anything you do. Success should never be immediate.
Chase the Right Things
Money doesn’t come easy. We all know that. And if you solely chase money, you won’t make a lot.
All these skills are life skills that not only will help you in your pursuit for more money, but will make you a more holistically successful person. Chase these skills, not the money itself. Money is a byproduct of consistent success.
Money is temporary, skills are permanent.
